Raffted (“Raffted”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is a professional community platform for the dental field in India, operated by an individual based in Hyderabad, India. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data in a responsible manner.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, store and protect your personal data when you use raffted.com and any related services (“Platform”), in line with applicable Indian data protection laws, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and relevant IT rules, as they come into force.

By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

Users are considered “Data Principals” under applicable Indian data protection law.

We collect only the information that is reasonably necessary to operate the Platform and build a safe professional community. We do not sell your personal data.

2.1 Information You Provide

During registration and profile completion, you may provide:

  • Role (Dentist / BDS Consultant / Clinic / Practice Owner / Lab Technician / Dental Student)
  • Email address
  • Mobile number
  • Password (stored in encrypted form)
  • Primary location (city/area or other location you choose)
  • Professional details, such as qualifications, clinic name, specialisations, and brief bio (if you choose to provide them)

For verification, you may also provide:

  • Dental registration number
  • Copies of registration certificates or other proof of credentials

In your ongoing use of the Platform, you may provide:

  • Posts, comments, messages, images, videos and other content you upload
  • Event, job, course or lab listing details you submit for the public calendar or “Find” section

2.2 Automatically Collected Information

When you access or use Raffted, we may automatically collect:

  • Device and browser information (e.g., type, operating system, approximate screen size)
  • Log data (e.g., date/time of access, pages viewed, basic usage patterns)
  • IP address (which may give an approximate location)

We use this for security, troubleshooting and to understand how the Platform is used.

2.3 Location Information

In the Find section, you can search by location/pincode or by pressing a location button:

  • If you manually enter a location or pincode, we use that value only to show search results.
  • If you choose to enable device-based location, we may receive approximate location information from your browser or device to show results near you.
  • You can choose not to allow device-based location and instead manually type a pincode or area.

2.4 Cookies and Similar Technologies

We may use basic cookies or similar technologies to:

  • Keep you signed in
  • Remember your basic preferences (e.g., role, dark mode, basic UI settings)
  • Improve security and performance

We do not use cookies for behavioural advertising or cross-site tracking.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your personal data for the following purposes:

Account creation and management

To register you on Raffted, create your profile, and provide access to features.

Professional community features

  • To enable you to view and create posts, comments, messages, and calendar entries.
  • To show your basic profile information (name, role, primary location, etc.) to other users as part of professional networking.

Verification and trust

To manually verify your professional credentials (where provided) with publicly available state or council resources, and mark verified profiles where appropriate.

Search and discovery

To allow other users to find consultants, jobs, courses and labs in a location, and to allow you to search by pincode or location.

Communications

  • To send you essential service-related emails or notifications (for example, verification updates, changes to terms, or important product updates).
  • To respond to your support requests or questions.

Security and misuse prevention

To monitor for suspicious activity, protect against spam, abuse, or security threats, and enforce our Terms.

Improvement of Raffted

To analyse how the Platform is used (in aggregate form) so we can fix bugs, improve features and understand which parts of the Platform are most helpful.

We will only process your personal data where we have a lawful basis to do so under applicable law (such as your consent, performance of our service, or legitimate interests in running a safe professional platform).

4. Sharing of Your Data

4.1 With Other Users

  • Certain profile information (e.g., name, role, primary location, profile photo and public profile details) may be visible to other users.
  • Content you post (e.g., posts, comments, events submitted to public calendar) may be visible to other users according to the feature.

4.2 With Service Providers

We may work with reputable third-party service providers to support the Platform, such as:

  • Hosting and infrastructure providers
  • Email and notification providers
  • Security or analytics providers (for aggregated, non-identifying usage data)

These providers are allowed to process your data only to provide services to us and must handle it securely and confidentially.

4.3 For Verification

If needed, we may compare your registration number or credentials with publicly available State Dental Council / DCI resources or similar to verify authenticity. We do not share your certificates with third parties for marketing or unrelated purposes.

4.4 Legal and Safety

We may disclose information if required by law or in good-faith belief that such disclosure is reasonably necessary to:

  • Comply with legal obligations, court orders or lawful requests by public authorities.
  • Protect the rights, property or safety of Raffted, our users or the public.
  • Detect, prevent or address fraud, security issues or technical problems.

4.5 Business Changes

If in future Raffted undergoes a restructuring, transfer or similar event (e.g., transfer into a company), user data may be transferred to the new controlling entity, subject to similar privacy protections.

5. Data Retention

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy or to meet legal and regulatory obligations.

In general:

  • Account data (profile, posts, messages) is kept while your account is active.
  • If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain some information for legal, security or legitimate business reasons (for example, to prevent re-registration by abusive accounts, or to comply with record-keeping obligations).
  • Content that other users have interacted with (e.g., replies to your public posts) may remain in anonymised form to preserve discussion threads.

We aim to limit retention to the shortest period needed.

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including:

  • Encrypted passwords
  • Secure hosting and access controls
  • Limited access to personal data on a need-to-know basis

8. Children and Non-Dental Users

Raffted is intended only for adults connected to the dental field. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children or from patients using the Platform as patients.

If you believe a minor or someone outside the intended dental community has created an account, please contact us so we can review and, if necessary, remove the account.

9. International Transfers

Our hosting or service providers may be located inside or outside India. Wherever data is stored or processed, we will ensure an appropriate level of protection consistent with this Privacy Policy and applicable Indian law.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in law, technology or our services.

When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and may provide a notice within the Platform or by email.

Your continued use of Raffted after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
